Cygnet Family Practice is seeking a VR GP with a passion for providing high quality, holistic healthcare within a multi-disciplinary team that values care, respect, community, and the environment. Relocation assistance up to $11,500 is on offer. Located in Tasmania's stunning Huon Valley within 50 minutes' drive to Hobart, the breathtaking views from the practice's consulting rooms must be seen to be believed.
The Position
Cygnet Family Practice is a medium-sized, accredited general practice based on a patient-centred, evidence-based, holistic healthcare model. The team members are skilled, enthusiastic, and genuine in their patient care, and a wide variety of presentations makes for a rewarding and challenging clinical experience.
The practice is seeking an additional VR GP with no restrictions to join the team on a full-time/part-time basis.
Clinical expertise in chronic disease management would be an advantage, and willingness to train and mentor registrars and medical students. An interest in nutritional medicine would be valued.
The practice is currently open Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm.
They provide an Urgent and After-Hours Service led by a nurse practitioner and community paramedic on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9am-9.30pm. This service supports the GPs with walk in presentations and prevents double bookings and 'fit ins' with the GPs.
After hours is covered by Healthdirect Australia, so there is no requirement for on-call.

The Organisation
The township of Cygnet is situated in the beautiful Huon Valley, less than an hour south of Hobart. The eclectic Cygnet community is most welcoming, and passionate about the environment in which they live. The area is a popular tourist destination and Cygnet is a growing community, with a bustling array of lifestyle choices including sailing, sports and music and arts festivals. There is a choice of local public and private schooling from kindergarten to Grade 10.
Cygnet Family Practice is fully computerised and uses Best Practice. They are a private billing practice.
The team is comprised of six doctors, two nurse practitioners, four practice nurses, practice manager and four receptionists. There is a visiting psychologist monthly.
Access to other local allied health practitioners includes referral pathways to a physiotherapist, diabetes educator, dietitian, podiatrist, psychologist, social worker, remedial masseuse and child & family health nurse.

What's on offer?
The practice is offering a competitive remuneration package based on 65% of billings, with a minimum guaranteed annual salary of $120,000.
Relocation assistance is available up to $11,500.00.
